I was approached to be part of a book project. He approached some of the biggest and brightest in education. He then approached me as well
Here is his concept:
So - this idea is to use our spare time (ha, ha), to each contribute a chapter to what will eventually be a book about moving education forward, innovating to find solutions and the tools we may use to get this done. It will not be a book expressly about technology in education, but rather take the approach…

It is time for an App update!Posted on Thursday, April 23, 2009 Comments by Leslie Fisher in iApplications
I have to say, this past month for Apps was an interesting one. If there is one word that comes to mind, it is mainstream. Many mainstream websites and companies released Apps. It was pretty nice to see. So, in all of my clicking and checking out the new Apps, here are some of my favorites. How I miss it. No, it has not been stolen, it has just had a slight lobotomy ever since I got to New Zealand. Even with the very scary Data Roaming turned on (only for 5 minutes, that should cost me $100) my iPhone has no idea where it is and what it can do. No GPS, no location services, nada. This was not an issue when I was in London, my iPhone acted normally there. I know I am missing some good apps and hope my friends and fellow geeks chime in when they discover a gem. I cannot wait to start teaching iPhone classes at conferences so we can start some fun birds of a feather sessions. My Favorite iPhone games so FarPosted on Tuesday, August 05, 2008 Comments by Leslie Fisher in iApplications A few of you have mentioned how surprised you are not to see game listing from me yet. I would question this, but, I would have to stop playing Rockband and click off of World of Warcraft. GPS and general bondingPosted on Sunday, July 20, 2008 Comments by Leslie Fisher in iApplications, iPod Touch, iPad, iPhone So, for the past week I have been hanging out with a hard drive chewing, battery munching, ugly yellow screening, case bulging iPhone. Sure, I like it. Its an iPhone and it surfs the web faster and my limited experience with the moving blue dot has been fun. However, today we bonded a bit more. My Favorite Productivity Apps so farPosted on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 Comments by Leslie Fisher in iApplications Apple just created a new geek like culture in the form of Applications for the iPhone and iPod touch. Sure, Treos had this, but, the sleek begging for interactive design of the iPhone is perfect for discovering how it can be morphed into your personal whatever the heck you want it to be. My ReplacementPosted on Monday, July 14, 2008 by Leslie Fisher in iPod Touch, iPad, iPhone Late Friday I made an appointment at the genius bar where I got my phone. My main complaint was the yellow screen. It looked terrible. And even fuzzy. Removing the protective film (by the way, the new film the Apple sells for the 3G is terrible! I will be testing some new ones. Avoid the stuff if you can) still left it yellow. Leaving NZPosted on Monday, April 14, 2008 Comments by Leslie Fisher in Food, New Zealand Obviously, I love it here. The kindness of the people, the views and amazing scenery and well, um, favorite snacks. Do we have anything like the Mallow Puff in the states? I know many times when I see someone talk about a friend who passed away I feel a bit uneasy, especially if I do not know the person. I am also not the sort that wants others to feel that way, but, this is Doug and the last thing Doug ever wanted was pity or for someone to feel bad for him during his fight. Do you have shoes with spikes. Sigh. Boy howdy is there a difference!Posted on Sunday, September 23, 2007 Comments by Leslie Fisher in Australia So, here I am in Brisbane waiting for my gate connection to Cairns. A week long school holiday just started so now I am surrounded by kids. You know how much I love this. Smart move on my part booking a wine region for a few days, but, I think I will be hanging with some snots on the barrier reef. I have been snot free the whole trip. That sure has changed. Da Reef Da Reef!Posted on Sunday, September 23, 2007 Comments by Leslie Fisher in Australia My trip to Cairns was consumed by numbers. The wrong amount of baggage on the plane delayed us a few hours. The next morning on the boat trip we had a stowaway so we were counted. Twice. Seeya NZ!Posted on Friday, September 21, 2007 Comments by Leslie Fisher in New Zealand Today I leave NZ and head off to Australia. I will say all the mushy things here. I will miss the Kiwis. So perfectly demonstrated with the kindness displays by the Haydens and most every other Kiwi I ran into. Well, maybe not that male Kiwi in the Kiwi exhibit. The Dart RiverPosted on Friday, September 21, 2007 Comments by Leslie Fisher in New Zealand This was a trip I originally did not sign up for. After many weeks of planning, I decided to have someone else book my activities (probably best explained in another blog, she deserves her own mention). I did it and now I feel dirty.Posted on Friday, September 21, 2007 Comments by Leslie Fisher in New Zealand I promised myself. Do not go into McDonalds during this trip. Honestly, I do not think you can be let down. This is it? You sure?Posted on Monday, September 17, 2007 Comments by Leslie Fisher in Golf, New Zealand Monday was a side trip to Taupo to Play Wairakei International Golf Course. I decided to take a coach there. I walked the 1 mile to the charter depot with my clubs. I provided much entertainment as people either asked if they could help me find my ball or tell me I could play through. Once I hit the depot, I told the driver my destination and he said he would take me right there. Precious, My Precious.Posted on Monday, September 17, 2007 Comments by Leslie Fisher in New Zealand I am off to Queenstown NZ Adrenaline capital of NZ. After getting up from fainting looking at the internet fees I was off to the Rotorua Museum which is housed in a old bath house. My night was spent discovering Maori 101 followed by a Hangi ceremony. I would love to say the education and show were amazing, but, it basically was a show with some food afterwards. However, the more I see it, the more I wish I could Haka. Cape KidnappersPosted on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 Comments by Leslie Fisher in Golf, New Zealand I was really looking forward to this experience. In fact, I originally flew to Napier only to play this course. Glenn from the golf course was wonderful in helping me with my planning here, etc. Its official. I am out of town.Posted on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 Comments by Leslie Fisher in New Zealand So, for my first few days, I have felt out of town, but, not really. Sure, the steering wheel being on the wrong side of the car has had me heading for the wrong door a few times and my slight freak out when I thought the lady driving next to me fell asleep at the wheel has reminded me how far away I am, but, shopping at the Westfield mall, bumping into Pita Pit, Lady Foot Locker, Blockbuster and many other stores still reminded me a lot of home.
