Displaying a mobile device on your computer via Doc Cam, Cable (Mac) and Reflector

May 5, 2020

I posted a blog post about an app called iDocCam an app that lets you display your mobile device on your computer using a WiFi connection. It lead to inquisitive educators asking me about other display options for their computers.

I recorded variations of this video in 2015 and 2018 and here is a fresh and new recording for 2020.

In this video I quickly mention the iPevo document camera to show how you can display your mobile device on your computer. I then show that Mac users can display an iOS device with a USB cable and QuickTime player and then finish up with a demo of Reflector which is a wireless screen mirroring application for Mac and PC that will work with both iOS and Android which should work quite well at home vs running into some possible firewall issues running it in a school environment.
