Are You Claude Curious?

I am using Claude more and more. While I still feel ChatGPT does certain things better, Claude shows up in places ChatGPT doesn't, including right inside PowerPoint and Chrome, and seems more curious than any other AI assistant when I short-prompt. Instead of guessing, it asks the right questions to get me exactly what I need. It also reads documents and catches things I miss, which has been a genuine game-changer for me personally. This session will overview Claude and how it benefits me, which in turn might benefit you. We will also look at areas where it still might be better to use another assistant, while at the same time showing you things in Claude that no other AI assistant can do.

Can you assign them? Can you see the results as people fill out a form? Can I embed them? The answer to all of these is yes and then some! Did you know you can present a Microsoft Form and have people fill it out? How about the Math helper and then all of the templates and music? I can go on and on. This session will overview the Microsoft Reading Progress app in Microsoft Teams as well as the web-based Microsoft Reading Coach. Reading Progress is a free tool that allows educators to assign reading fluency passages that students can independently record themselves reading out loud. Educators can review the audio and video with AI-assisted help and gather insights automatically on student progress. This session will overview the many features of Reading Progress, including some of its newest features, such as Reading Coach, which helps students with words they struggled with, and Expression, which helps students get feedback on improving reading aloud with expression.Reading Coach for the Web is aimed at a broader audience, including individual learners who want to improve their reading skills, educators looking for supplemental resources, and even parents supporting their children's reading development. In the past few years, they have added numerous features and platforms to help educators edit, store, and share videos on various platforms quickly and easily. I had always known about and mentioned Book Creator in many of my sessions, but it was not until I did a webinar all about Book Creator that I learned just how powerful it was. Based on the reactions of webinar attendees, I was not alone. So, this session will overview Book Creator. We will look at what it is and how it works and then dig into its feature set, which includes immersive book creation, complete with accessibility feature, for you and your students for free up to 40 books. We will also dive into some lesser-known yet helpful features and take a peek at its affordable premium options, which add features such as additional libraries, books, and collaboration. Their booth was so large they wanted me to provide an overview tour. I took this idea to a large EdTech conference and it has taken off. It allows me to interact more with educators and will enable educators to get a little knowledge or a head start on some of the solution providers in an exhibit hall. At large conferences, I have offered this daily, focusing on different topics. I have always been interested in Virtual Reality and have owned headsets, but I have also mainly used and studied them from the standpoint of VR to help educators in a classroom.In March 2020, I started using my Virtual Headset for fitness, and it grew from there. I became immersed and fell into the rabbit hole of virtual reality. I spent New Year's Eve laughing with a dozen other people throwing snowballs at each other while watching fireworks. I am enjoying Fitness, Socializing, Gaming, Learning, Adventures, and so much more. As I have introduced many friends to Virtual Reality and the treasure trove of apps, there is always one thing they say. I had no idea. What a great time to learn about this. We will be in this unique dynamic for a bit, and Virtual Reality might be a great missing link escapism for you. Even when things become more stabilized, I am happy to know the many uses I have for VR will be available to me while on the road or relaxing at home.This session will overview Virtual Reality and some of its more popular (as well as some of my favorite) apps available. The headset I will focus on will be the popular Oculus Quest 3, but many of these apps are also available on other headsets.
