Rocketbook Beacons and Beacon Powered Think Board X. Two ways to share content with remote viewers in real time

May 18, 2020

About a year ago, Rocketbook announced Rocketbook Beacons. If you are new to the idea of Rocketbooks and Beacons I would suggest checking out my Rocketbook Resource Page.

The Beacons can be used on their own. No Rocketbook required. With Beacons, you can turn any surface into a surface that can be captured via the Rocketbook App and then shared online or simply to your Rocketbook architecture.

In a time of Remote Learning, the idea of Beacons can be a handy way to get items you are writing, drawing, etc to your students in real time. They could watch via the web and then even download the content you create.

Let's add into this Think Board who makes a wide variety of peel and stick surfaces that can be drawn on. I have mentioned this product a few times in my webinars. I have one on my desk (I could have also stuck a larger version on my wall) and I point a camera based device at it and share my screen for others to see.

Think Board recently released the Think Board X2 which has Beacons on the Think Board page itself. Meaning you can use the Rocketbook app, open up a Snapcast and your students can watch the changes automatically and if they want, save the content.

For me, this checks a couple of items. I have a nice peel and stick board which is on my desk which is perfect for to-do's thoughts, etc. and at any time I need to I can snap a picture to send it to my Rocketbook architecture or create a Snapcast to share with people in real time.

I overview all of this in the video below.
