I learned about The Novel Effect a few months ago from Kathy Kersznowski
The Novel Effect will listen as you read and add sound effects to enhance your reading adventure. The Novel Effect supports hundreds of books. Also, at the time of this blog post many kids are currently in a remote learning situation. The Novel Effect has teamed up with many of the books they support to temporarily allow for online reading which will allow you to record yourself reading a book remotely to your students that you can then post and share with them. You can find out more about this in their Teacher Resources area which also includes lesson plans as well as other content and activities. While The Novel Effect is free, you do have to purchase the books from the Apple Book Store. However, currently, some of those books have been toggle onto free to assist people currently in a remote learning situation.
