Accessibility isn’t a special feature for a few students. It’s a toolbox for all of us. The captions you turn on in a noisy room, the dictation you use when your hands are full, the read-aloud that rescues your tired eyes at the end of the day: those are accessibility features, and you’re probably already using some of them.
In this session, I’ll go well beyond the phone in your pocket. We’ll explore the accessibility tools hiding in your computer, your browser, and your favorite apps across Apple, Google, and Microsoft, and how they help students with disabilities, English learners, busy teachers, and, well, everyone. Expect plenty of “wait, it can do that?” moments. Best of all, almost everything we cover is free and already sitting right in front of you.
Optional shorter description: Accessibility features aren’t just for some of us. They make life easier for everyone. Leslie Fisher spotlights the free, built-in tools across phones, computers, and browsers from Apple, Google, and Microsoft that help students with disabilities, English learners, and every busy educator in the room.
